The Program
Australia Awards Indonesia is managed by Coffey on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The goal of Australia Awards Indonesia is that: Indonesia’s development is enhanced by the contribution of internationally qualified professionals and a strong and positive relationship with Australia. This will contribute across the whole scope of the Australia Indonesia Partnership, including its goal to work in partnership with Indonesia to achieve a more prosperous, safe and democratic Indonesia.

Short Term Awards are a capacity building tool to meet AAI outcomes of developing participants’ knowledge, skills and attitudes to contribute positively in their professional fields and communities, to develop links with Australians, Australian organisations, other alumni and agencies in Indonesia as well as to ensure that the participants view Australia in a positive light.

To contribute to the AAI, Coffey is currently seeking applications for a Short Term Awards Senior Manager to be based (fulltime) in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Position
The Short Term Awards Senior Manager will work under the direction of the Short Term Awards Adviser to ensure overall quality delivery of Australia Awards Short Term Awards and leadership of the Short Term Awards team. This will include managing and overseeing the work of Short Term Awards team across all phases of the Short Term Awards cycle, from stakeholder consultation, identification of opportunities, leading input to course designs, developing course workplans and budgets, managing the administration of tenders, leading the process of participant selection, and monitoring and reporting on course implementation.

The post will provide supervision and mentoring to the Short Term Awards Managers, Coordinator and Officers, to ensure the effective application and allocation of resources for the delivery of Short Term Awards.

The Person
To be considered for this role you will have demonstrated senior level experience in project management in an international development context. She/he should have an experience in high level representation and negotiation and then planning and budgeting processes. The person needs to have experiences on reporting, monitoring and evaluation as well as supervising and mentoring staff. Besides having high level proficiency in spoken, written English and Indonesian, you will need to have good knowledge of Government of Indonesia (GoI) system and approaches and understanding of the Australian higher education sector.
