Founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental, non-religious, and non-profit making organization that delivers programmes in over 45 countries. Recognized worldwide as a leader in the fight against hunger, our mission is to save lives through the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition, especially during and after emergency situations and conflicts. Action Against Hunger had been now developed into Action Against Hunger International network with headquarters in France, Spain, Canada, UK and USA.

Action Against Hunger has been active in the NTT district since 2007 since its first established in 1999 in Indonesia in cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Health, local authorities and stakeholders. Around 40 networks have benefited from a renovation, as have water sources and wells. In the Kupang District, Action Against Hunger now implements a range of integrated community based programs in Nutrition and Care practices, Food Security, Water Sanitation & Hygiene, Emergency response and DRR/Climate Change Adaptation going from relief to recovery in order to address effectively the population’s needs.

Under the current activities of our program in Kupang District, East Nusa Tenggara Province, a key area to focus is to support the capacity building of local authorities, community, include local NGO to improve the capacity to replicate key activities on their own future. To actualize this, Action Against Hunger is now seeking a good candidate to fill the position of “BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXPERT”, with the following:

Primary Objective
The Business Development Expert will lead on new business development in support of the Action against Hunger Indonesia programme; creating, identifying and accessing new funding opportunities; maintaining a consistent standard of donor relationship and high-quality proposal development and consortium partnerships.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Business Development Expert Indonesia will support the country team in providing strategic leadership on resource mobilitation in Indonesia.

The Business Development Expert will be responsible for developing and implementing the corporate resource mobilitation strategies in Indonesia.

  • New business development: (45%) Actively identifies, qualifies and tracks corporate funding and partnership opportunities in a systematic manner in pursuit of supporting Action Against Hunger’s Indonesia programme.
  • Resource mobilisation strategies: (45%) Leads the design and implementation of country resource mobilisation strategies intended to strengthen income and partnerships to deliver the country strategy. Monitors the funding pipeline and leads on income planning and forecasting at the country level.
  • Proposal development: (10%) Prepares all necessary groundwork and undertakes quality assurance of corporate donor proposals to ensure high quality competitive proposals in order to successfully secure funds from CSR
Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in Fund rising activities
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing the corporate resource mobilitation strategis in Indonesia

Essential:

  • A University degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Law, Economics or International Development or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience and success in engaging with bilateral and multilateral donors for an international agency
  • Demonstrated ability to devise and implement resource mobilitation strategies
  • Proven ability to identify new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Experience of working with technical teams to develop program proposals that are funded by donors
  • Strong networking, representational, and negotiation skills
  • Experience of skills capacity building in relation to programme funding or related field
  • Superior verbal and written communicatioin skills in English with ability to analyse and synthesise complex issues
  • Strong proven ability to identify and articulate strategic and policy issues through effective oral and written briefs
  • Support Action Against Hunger’s values and culture, including being gender sensitive
  • Excellent computer skills, including various office applications and internet navigation
Desirable:

  • Good knowledge and awareness of  issues related to Action Against Hunger’s strategic objectives and theories of change
  • Previous experience in tracking corporate funding in Indonesia or similar context
