SurfAid International Job Vacancy: HR and Operations Team Leader - Medan

SurfAid International is a nonprofit organization working for healthy and resilient communities in remote areas connected to us through surfing. With the head office in Medan, the community programs are implemented in Mentawai, Nias, Sumba and Bima.

We are looking for an ambitious, fun, energetic and experienced as:

HR and Operations Team Leader - Medan

To coordinate personnel and processes to achieve the effective staffing and delivery of materials for our development programs in remote areas in Indonesia Coordinate recruitment process.

HR policies and procedures and standards

  • Ensure a relevant up to date Logistics handbook and policies are in place, responsive to challenging situation in remote areas.
  • Liaise with other senior managers and Program Manager to develop procurement plans in line with donor expectations and ensure that all needs of the programs are acquired in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Processing of all local payments in liaison with the finance and in a timely manner ensuring to verify that all paperwork / documentation is complete and duly authorized before submitting for payment.
  • Identify potential local sources of goods and services and recommending them for supply.
  • Contribute to planning & proposal development ensuring context specific security considerations are included in the proposal. 
Maintaining organization staff

  • Responsible for recruiting, testing, and interviewing program for all senior positions and overseeing for all other positions; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Maintaining employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
Leading 3 staffs and improving performance all SurfAid staffs

  • Lead and Motivate the HR & Logistics team and ensure that they have clear objectives and receive meaningful feedback on their work.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.

THE PERSON

  • You have a bachelor degree from any discipline,
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the HR administration or operations field, preferably with  non profit organization
  • You like challenges an travelling to remote areas,
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and oral with practical computer skills and competence with Microsoft office environment
