Gree New Energy - Generating today the energy of tomorrow. Founded in 2014, GREE New Energy is a new developer of biogas-to-energy projects, working towards the energy transition to a low-carbon economy in Indonesia.

Gree New Energy is a young and very ambitious venture in the field of environment and renewable energy in Indonesia. Our first 2 projects are currently in construction in Lampung, Sumatra and Kalimantan Tengah.

About the role
Our business is growing rapidly, and we need a skilled Business Developer to acquire and manage new and existing client relationships. In this role, you will be responsible for initiating new projects, negotiating contracts and closing business deals. We will rely on you to supervise the initial business execution of our power generation projects, including feasibility studies, licensing, project financing, and negotiation with PLN.

A successful Business Developer will build productive relationships with our target clients in Indonesia, who are high-level executives e.g. President Directors, Sustainability Directors, Heads of production, and Chief Strategy Officers, in the cassava starch and palm oil industries. You will be able to work independently, as well as be an active part of a small team in Jakarta. You will report directly to Gree’s CEO, who is in Jakarta for approximately one week each month.

  • Identify potential clients in Gree’s target market and complete relevant research and analysis on our prospective partners’ business needs and goals 
  • Proactively create new business opportunities by approaching new clients, initiating commercial negotiations, and closing business deals
  • Develop, negotiate, review and finalize contract terms with clients and communicate terms to stakeholders
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients, and maintain collaborative relationships with existing partners
  • Manage project financing and licensing during the initial project development
  • Prepare effective marketing and communication kits e.g. presentations, brochures, etc;
  • As an active member of a growing company, you may also be asked to contribute to other initiatives to support the rest of the team, and vice versa. Our lean and agile structure will encourage you to offer initiatives and adjust your work to contribute on activities you enjoy that could bring in value to the company.
Qualifications and experience 
  • English proficiency TOEFL: 90, IELTS: 6.5, CAE 
  • 5 to 10 years experience in sales, business development or equivalent
  • A proven record in contract negotiation skills
  • Education background in communications, marketing, or law is a plus
  • Experience in financing (equity financing, project financing) is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a virtual team Conditions

  • Salary: 30 to 55 M Rps/month
