The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organization skills, and an ability to network with officials at all levels in both government and non-government entities. Demonstrated success in planning and coordinating inter-ministerial meetings, and experience in the creation and distribution of press releases, annual reports and other marketing materials is essential.

Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Partner Relations Manager assists in assuring that relationships with Peace Corps partners, particularly Republic of Indonesia (RI) counterpart institutions at the national, provincial and local levels, are positive, proactive and open.. The work includes handling and/or facilitating communication regarding the program and its Volunteers; developing quarterly updates and annual reports for partners; and organizing and participating in regular and ad hoc meetings with partners to facilitate communication and advocate for and represent Peace Corps Indonesia. Develops in-depth knowledge of organizational mission and goals, systems and procedures, and the work of Volunteers and staff to accurately respond to partner questions and to represent the organization. Assists in the development of new partnerships which advance the work of the organization and Volunteers. Assists with the registration and documentation of Volunteers with relevant RI Ministries. Spearheads and coordinates public relations activities for Peace Corps Indonesia.

Partners Relations Duties
  • Develops and manages a comprehensive and systematic approach to communication with partners drawing upon all forms of communication including e-mails, phone calls, the Peace Corps Indonesia webpage, e-bulletins, social media, and regular mail to keep partners informed of Peace Corps Indonesia news and activities
  • Maintains and assures the quality of a database of partners including Republic of Indonesia (RI) officials (including steering and working groups members), local and international NGO partners, media contacts, returned Peace Corps Volunteers living in Indonesia, and service providers
  • Responds to ad-hoc requests for information from partners regarding the program
  • Serves as translator and assistant to the Country Director, particular in matters of protocol and public relations
  • Through monitoring news, reading relevant government reports, and maintaining contact with Ministries, follows and researches all changes to laws and Ministries that may affect Peace Corps and its Volunteers and advises CD of all changes and steps to take to respond to changes
  • Coordinates public events, especially in maintaining guest lists, coordinating protocol for invitations, and supporting media involvement
  • Serves as a primary contact for providing information, guidance and assistance to partners regarding Peace Corps policies and procedures related to Volunteer service and helps to develop materials as needed
PR/Communications Duties
  • Seeks out and alerts the Country Director to public relations opportunities and methods of ensuring wide dissemination of information regarding the Peace Corps Indonesia program and Volunteers’ activities
  • Drafts press releases and informational notices in Indonesian and English for review by the Country Director; disseminates approved press releases and notices to media and partner agencies as appropriate
  • Drafts, edits and formats quarterly updates and annual reports in English and Indonesian and assures that these reports are developed, printed and distributed on time
  • Manages and maintains program’s website and social media platforms
  • Collects and disseminates publications and broadcasts featuring Peace Corps Indonesia
  • Coordinates with the General Service Manager in logistical support for public events
Volunteer Support Duties
  • Provides advice and support to Volunteers and trainees who have been asked by Peace Corps to represent the organization with the media including but not limited to furnishing a fact sheet on Peace Corps Indonesia, partners updates, and other information to assist them to answer media questions
  • Arranges for Volunteer participation at events with partners to strengthen understanding of their work and interactions within their host communities
  • Manages and works collaboratively with Peace Corps Volunteers who are members of the Social Media Committee
Meeting Support Duties 
  • Provides support to the Country Director and the Programming and Training unit through the organization of regularly scheduled meetings and ad hoc meetings with partners
  • Provides administrative supports, including documenting meeting minutes, drafting proposed agendas, providing translation, and managing correspondence
  • Sets up a tracking system for any actions which come out of these meetings for which Peace Corps Indonesia is responsible and assures that deadlines are met
  • Represents Peace Corps at meetings
Volunteer Documentation Duties 
  • Serves as support to and back-up to the Volunteer and Executive Support Coordinator in ensuring that Volunteers are properly documented with the Government; this includes obtaining and renewing visas, residency permits, identification cards, and any other documentation required by the Republic of Indonesia
  • Assists with the follow-up on all documentation filed for Volunteer registration to ensure timely processing
  • As assigned, explores options to facilitate processing of Volunteer and staff documentation; maintains close communication with other volunteer organizations to share best practices regarding registration procedures
  • Position is based in Jakarta with regularly scheduled travel to Surabaya and other areas of Indonesia.
  • Performs other duties as assigned according to Peace Corps Indonesia’s needs.
TDY Travel: The Contractor is subject to worldwide availability and may be requested by the Peace Corps to be reassigned or transferred permanently to another Peace Corps Post/Headquarters or perform temporary duties (TDY) as required and to travel to other assignments within Peace Corps’ as assigned. Any such reassignment or transfer shall be subject to agreement of the Contractor. The Statement of Work as defined will remain the same; however the duties may be subject to change as determined by the Contracting Officer


  • 3-5 years’ professional work experience
  • Experience working with Indonesian government agencies, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BAPPENAS, Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of Religious Affairs, and other ministries relevant to the work of Peace Corps
  • Experience working with international agencies and/or foreign governments
Languages: Fluent in Indonesian and English

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations in English and Indonesian, create correspondence, develop promotional materials, and coordinate activities/events with other staff members or Volunteers
  • Ability to create professional public relations materials, including press releases, pamphlets and brochures, and an annual report
  • Skills in social media management to include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the program’s website
  • Extensive experience in using computers and technology, including developing Power Point presentations
  • Basic graphic design, including photography and videography
  • Ability to act with diplomacy and tact with staff, Volunteers, Trainees, community members and members of government
  • Demonstrated skills and experience as a translator in Bahasa Indonesia and English
Education Requirements 
  • University/college degree required in any subject, with a preferred background to include international relations, journalism, media and/or communication
