TIFA Foundation Job Vacancy: Program Officer Justice and Equality, South Jakarta

To expand our work, we are currently seeking: Program Officer Justice and Equality (Position Code : POJ )

The Officer will be responsible for management of key programs which include developing new programs related to justice and equality, the delivery of capacity building programs for partners and activists and advocacy works.

  1. Educational requirement: Masters is strongly preferred. Alternatively, completion of University Degree, preferably in development studies or human rights, or related field and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human rights work or related field, experience in training and drafting reports and other materials required.
  2. Excellent written, verbal, research, analytical and communication skills.
  3. Having a minimum of seven years experiences working on issues of law, human rights and/or governance. Previous experience working in donor agency and/or NGO is highly desirable.
  4. Knowledge of international and national human rights system and laws, and use of legal system to address poverty, exclusion and oppression is highly desirable.
  5. Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize workload and meet multiple deadlines
  6. Demonstrated commitment to social justice, past field-works experience in rural areas is desirable.
  7. Fluent English language skills are required.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Capacity building:
  1. Organize and conduct workshops for partners and activists on a range of human rights, justice and equality issues, including in building partners’ capacity in project management.
  2. Support in the production of training modules and resource materials
  3. Build and maintain relations with partners, activists and policy makers
  1. Conduct regular assessment on human rights, justice and equality situation in Indonesia
  2. Occasionally, draft reports and briefs on rights violations, justice and equality issues in Indonesia
  3. Liaising with relevant policy makers, government officials, donors, partners, other CSOs and activists to promote attainment of access to justice for all.
Program Management and Administrative:
  1. Prepare project appraisals and organizational assessment for each potential and ongoing partners
  2. Monitoring and evaluation of projects
  3. Develop new programs for potential cooperation with other organizations
  4. Annually prepare budget plan and regularly report on the budget
  5. Organize training sessions and visits
  6. Draft reports for Tifa Foundation’s Boards and donors
  7. Organize and maintain records as required
  1. To some extend the Officer will need to support the drafting of external communications materials including press releases, blogs and briefings
  2. Support the communication strategy by creating content for website, newsletters and social media
  3. This position is full-time position, with 1 (one) year fixed term initial contract.  The extension will be subject to job performance and the availability of the budget.
