About Lingkar Temu Kabupaten Lestari
The Sustainable Districts Platform (or Lingkar Temu Kabupaten Lestari / “LTKL”) is a membership-based coalition with Kabupaten, represented by Bupati, as its members. LTKL intends to connect the dots and create impactful partnerships towards sustainable jurisdiction focusing on land-use, within and between Kabupaten through innovative convening method. A ‘Sustainable Jurisdiction’ will balance environmental, social, and economic aspects within its policy, planning, and programs with concrete goals to (i) increase GDP of districts, (ii) alleviate poverty, and (iii) moving towards zero deforestation and peat. LTKL is supported by a Partners Network which provides strategic support (in-kind and resources) and guidance to Lingkar Temu Kabupaten Lestari through its national and direct district’s engagement. At this moment, LTKL has eight districts as the members and 11 organizations as the members.
LTKL is also supported by a Secretariat team responsible to facilitate, monitor and report on LTKL strategic activities through an integrated platform. It will also be in-charge to conduct strategic research and analysis on building blocks for sustainable land-use.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Under the broad guidance of the Executive Director and the Deputy Director, the Event and Communication Officer primary responsibility for planning, developing, and implementing communication strategies to promote LTKL missions. The incumbent will also be responsible for developing partnerships with other relevant organizations to disseminate information and create awareness on the importance of the jurisdictional approach, sustainable land-use management, and collective impacts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage LTKL Flagship and public Events with agreed sustainable event standard, including but not limited to Annual Sustainable Districts Festival, Annual General Assembly, LTKL Support for Annual APKASI Otonomi Expo. The Management of the events will include (i) planning, (ii) implementing, and (iii) monitoring events implementation in collaboration with the program and management team, such as:
- Convening & coordinating event management team including partners and third-party vendors;
- Drafting event work plan and budget;
- Finalizing event theme, flow, content, and speaker’s arrangement in collaboration with LTKL Secretariat Team and Event Team;
- Determining events logistic (including venue, F&B, transport & accommodation);
- Finalizing information flow and workflow for event implementation.
- Coordinating D-Day event management team including partners and third-party vendors;
- Ensure events logistic (including venue, F&B, transport & accommodation, and audience interaction) are done accordingly;
- Monitor event implementation and finalize event reports in collaboration with LTKL Secretariat Team and Event Team.
- Support the work of the Executive, Communication and Program Team on developing communication strategies and the implementation of communication programs to ensure the narration of sustainable landscape, jurisdictional approach and collective impact are communicated across stakeholders and wider audience, such as by producing high quality, informative and interactive communication tools (newsletter, Kabar Baik, and another communication report) to increase public awareness.
- Develop media engagement strategies and work plan with a vision to enhance the development of sustainable districts, which includes:
- Identify media, press, and partnership opportunities.
- Develop and produce high-quality and informative press releases, press kits, and related materials.
- Lead the implementation of LTKL media engagement program to improve cooperation.
- Monitor and analyze print and online media publications for effectiveness review.
- Develop new strategies and approaches to engage a wider audience through media.
- To manage and identify necessary communication tools to support implementation of the communication strategy (i.e. website updates, factsheets, profile, Q&A, Social Media, LTKL’s update every 2 months, Video & Infographics), which includes detail as follow:
- Develop and produce high-quality and informative press releases, press kits, and related materials.
- Ensure all messages are aligned with key program strategies.
- Develop content for social media, websites, LTKL’s updates, press releases, and other communication channels.
- Brainstorm and collaborate with teams for new ideas and strategies.
- Plan, create, and oversee the design, content, and production of marketing materials.
- Develop strategies for current and existing products, launches, and promotions.
- Monitor and analyze social media content for publication.
- Engage closely LTKL main partners (Private Sectors, Youth, SMEs, Community, and others) to improve their participation in LTKL programs.
- Participate in LTKL strategic discussions and/or events as relevant to the construction of the Communication Strategy.
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of Bachelor Degree in communication or other relevant studies with a minimum of two years of relevant experiences in journalism/media relations/public relations
- Experiences in managing offline and online event which includes all logistical and event preparation needs (venue hire, seating plan, ticketing, registration, managing guest list, and performers).
- Experiences in handling various communication tools including zoom, google meet, Instagram, website, and Youtube.
- A proven established network with media and journalists across sectors (economic, tourism, politics, culture, etc).
- Proven experience in managing various channels of social media for promotion and building awareness.
- A creative, hardworking individual with an excellent ability to handle various tasks in a short period.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality outputs on time.
- Willingness to learn on sustainable development context and the district’s needs.
- Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English as well as well-developed interpersonal skills.
TERM OF OFFER:
- Contract Period
- This position is expected to start immediately. Contract duration covers the period of November 2020 – November 2021 with a probation period of 3 months. Extendable based on performance evaluation and program needs.
- Reporting
- Event and Communication Officer will report on a monthly basis to the Executive Director and the Deputy Director of LTKL.
- Duty Station
- Event and Communication Officer will be stationed in Jakarta, with travels is necessary based on the needs of the relevant districts.
